In a whimsical village, there lived an eccentric and brave bird named Sparky. Like any other bird, Sparky was born with curiosity. But she had a unique perspective on life that set her apart from the rest of the flock.
Sparky lived by the motto “Be strong enough to stand alone, wise enough to know when you need help, and brave enough to ask for it.”
Sparky learned this mantra through life lessons and it took many lessons to get here. She gained wisdom by experiencing life and navigating the ups and downs of life.
In her early years, she felt pressured to prove her worth by flying solo. And achieving success as the most well travelled bird. Navigating the vast forests without any help was also a goal to achieve.
On one of her adventures, Sparky aimed to reach the farthest tree in the forest, a place where no bird dared to fly before! With unrelenting determination, she set off on her journey, leaving her flock behind.
After several hours of flying, Sparky’s wings grew tired, and she realized that she couldn’t make it on her own. She stopped on a branch to rest and reflect. It was then that she had an epiphany. She didn’t have to prove her strength by doing everything alone. True strength meant recognizing when she needed help and having the courage to ask for it.
What Defines Our Brave Journey
With newfound wisdom, Sparky sought out a wise old Hawaiian owl named Pueo. Pueo was renowned for his knowledge of the forest. And Sparky trusted that the wise owl could guide her on this quest. Sparky approached Pueo, swallowing her pride, and asked for help. Pueo pleased with Sparky’s humility, agreed to guide her. With Pueo’s assistance, Sparky reached the farthest tree in the forest, a feat that no other bird had accomplished. Upon her return, Sparky shared her story with the rest of the flock.
Sparky’s story is a quirky reminder that true strength lies in recognizing our limitations and having the courage to seek help when needed.
And yet, we each have our unique journeys. And it’s essential to question when to explore on our own, and when to ask for help. And not give up until we get the help we truly need, even if it burns some bridges. Not everyone can support us, especially when someone does not know how to support themselves. It’s just more life lessons in a world of abundant opportunities to learn what works for us and what doesn’t.
Can we channel our inner Sparky and embrace the power of strength, wisdom, and courage as we navigate the twists and turns of life? Often, by being brave enough to leave behind our old self and take a leap of faith into the unknown, we find out what we are truly capable of becoming. Maybe Sparky learned that it’s about experiencing the journey, not the destination?
