Maybe you’ve had your doubts about the #metaverse, What is it even? Is it real? Just another fantasy by a tech wunderkind? Why should I care? It’s one thing when it’s a meme on social media or even when one of the largest companies changes their name to try and force the meme into reality. The hipsters are there, the kids are there, have been there. Toys are being built, games are being played. But when a cultural mainstream sneaker company jumps in, we see the tide turning.
adidas is now partnering with Coinbase and they’re coming out with statements like “The Metaverse is currently one of the most exciting developments in digital, making it an interesting platform for Adidas.” This followed their allocation of “land” in The Sandbox.
