While there is a great deal of drama on the world stage, we can control our own by trusting our hearts. Life right now can feel unsettling but maybe we can see it as an invitation to step into something different?
When we insist on safety, predictability and holding on to our existing practices and structures, we stay stuck. The more we rush and try to cram more tasks into our day, the more likely we are to feel stressed.
But if something gets in the way of what we had planned, like the Internet being down when we are trying to get through our email, then maybe we can see it as a sign that maybe we are meant to be doing something else.
When we pause, we can step away from what we had planned and open ourselves to what we would like to be doing that brings us joy and satisfaction. But when we are too busy rushing from task to task, we often ignore our desires.
Does it not make sense to align with the natural flow of life and open ourselves to what feels exciting, healthy and freeing? Is it time to wipe the slate clean in some aspect of our life and begin a new adventure or embrace an opportunity?
Sometimes, a new beginning is simply moving on from something we don’t really want to let go of but that in our heart of hearts we know is time to release. There comes a point in life when we need to find ways to uncover what is in our heart and trust it.
Steve Jobs reminds us that, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it … Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
Being present and trusting our heart leads to natural desire. We can only uncover what we desire when we live in the moment. When you feel stuck, here are some suggestions, and please add your own
- Invest time in the simple things in your life; get back to basics
- Question why you do certain things on a daily basis and whether they are valuable to you
- Do more of what you truly enjoy and what makes you come alive in daily life; find ways to integrate these elements in your highest and best interest
- Think about things you’ve always wanted to do, or be, some day and ask yourself what you’re waiting for
- Take a look at some of your challenges and become aware of the opportunity and then, consider what you want to create and build
Surrender to life and trust the currents but observe what is happening with open hearts. Our hearts harbor all the inspiration, love, abundance, and creativity we desire and need. Many of our answers are already inside of us.
