We need to stop every once in awhile and reflect on what is good in our lives . What and who we are grateful for. Appreciate the little and big things that make our life better. Soak in beauty. Tell people how we feel, even if we're scared to. Notice what's good in ourselves.
Take time to relax, rest, play, and have fun.
Life goes by much too quickly and we need to slow down every once in awhile to enjoy it and appreciate the good. I guess that's part of the reason why I love indoor gardening and raising houseplants. It helps me do that: to slow down, have patience, let things unfold in their own time instead of pushing so hard all the time. I've learned to appreciate the cycles of nature and bask in the soothing beauty of my plants. As I've learned to nurture my plants, I've learned how to better nurture myself. I love playing in the dirt and consider caring for my plants to be a very rewarding and fulfilling leisure activity.

Yes, of course, we still need to stay focused on our goals, take care of our responsibilities, and follow through on our commitments. But not at the expense of love, enjoyment, or self-care . We need to make room in our days, weeks, and months, for what's nurturing, rewarding, and fulfilling. If we "don't have time" for something like self-care, relaxation or leisure, that's when we need it most. Even if we can only give 5 or 10 minutes at a time, if that's all we can do to get started, then that's what we need to do. We deserve at least that much. There's so much more to life than just meeting material and worldly goals, and I don't want to miss it.
