The Three Pillars of a Successful Mindset

My entire life has been dedicated to researching what I refer to as “The Success Mindset.”

The majority of my life has been in search of why some people achieve amazing success and others, who on the surface may be smarter or have more talent, fail or never come close to achieving their potential. It all begins with The Success Mindset.

My passion has been to determine why some people become wealthy, healthy, and happy and others struggle their entire life. My findings are published in my second book, “The 7 Principles of Becoming a Millionaire for Life.” In the book, I share a formula that dramatically increases your odds of achieving your goals personally and professionally. Today we will dive into three of the principles of The Success Mindset so you can better achieve the goals you established in your consultant or financial advisor marketing plan!

Activities Versus Results

The mindset to achieve success focuses on the activities required to achieve results.

There are two aspects of this component of success that separate top producers from average and low producers. First, top achievers focus on the High Value Fixed Daily Activities (HVFDAs), tasks that only they can do. Interestingly, their less successful counterparts often work more hours while producing significantly less results. This is because their time is spent on low value activities that could be and should be delegated to an assistant or non-value activities that should be eliminated.

The second difference is that top producers focus on the activities in their business plan that get the results, not the results themselves. They track and measure their results to determine the changes they need to make in their daily activities to generate the results they desire to achieve.

Accountability

Another key component to the success mindset is accountability. While we all know we need to be accountable, a challenge almost always occurs when we try to hold ourselves accountable. In our experience, few people have the discipline to do this effectively. For example, when we brought our Marketing System to market, we offered it as a stand-alone product. People bought it and were able to study and implement it at their own pace. During this same time, I began coaching a few people one-on-one who had purchased the system. With coaching, we began to see 18-year top producer veterans have their best income month ever within three months and other producers doubling their revenue in one quarter.
While I didn’t have time to personally coach the thousands of people who were purchasing the system, I knew I had to do something. The result was the creation of our PMA360 mastermind academy. This community provides our members access to materials as well as live coaching and Q&A calls that keep members accountable. While I knew this group mastermind coaching community approach would be helpful, the results have been beyond my wildest dreams! So whatever you are currently doing to achieve your goals, make sure it includes an element of accountability, as well as systems to keep you on track to achieving your goal.

Attitude

Most people agree that a positive attitude is critical to achieve success. That being said, one of the most intriguing aspects of a positive attitude is the ‘attractor factor’. When a person is upbeat, positive and enjoyable to be around, others want what they are offering. Clearly advisors and consultants with an optimistic, can-do attitude have mastered a key component of the Success Mindset.
