Ask your team. They know the answers ~ Chuck Carlson
Many leaders mistakenly believe that everyone expects them to have all the answers—but that’s not logical. You may know a lot, but you can’t know everything. The days of the Lone Ranger are over. In today’s complex business environment, you need the ideas, zest, energy, enthusiasm and collaboration of every member of your team. And they need yours.
Here’s a great reminder from a wise little book called “Together We Can,” created by my friend and colleague Dan Zadra:
“No one goes alone to the heights of excellence. No leader ever won a battle single-handed. No company ever produced a first-class product without first-class people and providers. American astronauts may have walked solo on the moon, but it took millions of U.S. citizens and thousands of aerospace workers to fly them there.
“The miracle is this: Combine two or more people in the pursuit of a common purpose, and suddenly one-plus-one is more than two. Together we are always able to accomplish what none of us could achieve alone. Working together works!”
