Following on from last week’s post explaining why you want to use scripts, here’s one to help with your scariest prospecting scenario—starting a conversation with a total stranger.
- Commit to initiating a conversation. It’s obvious, but it takes a brave step from you to decide you want to do this.
- Script it. Write out what you’ll say and then practice saying it out loud. You’ll likely need to go through several edits to end up with something that feels natural and comfortable.
- Engage. Mark that time block on your calendar when you will go work in a public place where you’ll also be listening for an ideal opportunity to let someone know who and how you help and that you’d like to talk with them further to potentially start a great relationship.
