Today I want to talk to you guys about my favourite digital compact camera. This camera has been on the market for a while now, but i love it so much that i decided i had to write about it.
I know buying a camera nowadays can be stressful and confusing, so i’m here to shed some light on the subject.
Tz100 is a compact camera made by Panasonic, and even if the brand might make you avoid it because it does not have a popular name as Canon or Nikon, they have been on the market as long as Nikon had, but they started with something a bit different that helped them improve the technology they put in their cameras as well.
For you guys i pulled out some information about them:
Their “TZ” series as far as it goes for compact cameras stands for “Travel Zoom” and they incorporate small compacts with a powerful zoom.
One of their compact system cameras made me question why i have a Dslr and why do i have to carry all that weight with me.
Tz100 is by far the most recommended compact camera at the moment by all tech and photographic websites, and i can truly understand why.
IT’S SMALL BUT SO POWERFUL!
SPECS:
Having such a small body and including a viewfinder this camera is the perfect option for the professional or amateur photographer that just wants to enjoy a holiday instead of dragging equipment after them, since it weights only 310 g. Apart from that the body is also impressive with a solid metal construction and being small enough to fit in your pocket.
The settings are all placed in a intuitive place and it makes it easy to play with the camera in full manual mode but it also features a ton of automatic options for those that don’t have the time to fiddle with finding the perfect setting.
For professionals the camera gives you the possibility to save files in Raw format as well as Jepeg so it will make editing better and easier. It also features 49-point Af, a face detection and a post focus function that is my all time favourite. The post focus allows you to take a picture and decide later where you want the focus to be.
The 4 K Photo gives you the option to shoot about 30 fps in 3 different modes :4K Burst, 4k S/S (start/stop); 4K Pre-Burst. This feature is amazing if you’re photographic fast moving actions and you want to make sure you don#t miss that amazing shot. Apart from the incredible speed that you can get from the 4K photo feature, it also does about 10fps in normal mode.
Iso ranges from 125 to 12,800 and is expandable to 80-25,600 which will offer plenty of versatility when taking night shots. But also having a 2.8 lens will also create amazing detailed images in low light.
Video recording is again impressive, with 4K recording capability (at 30 or 25 frames per second) as well as Full Hd at 50fps. The only downside is that it does not feature a mic input, but for general use i’m quite happy with the results.
Overall i’m more then impressed with this camera and i highly recommend it to anyone that wants to have the power of a Dslr in a small compact body.
