Now if you are a big Tony Robbins fan, I need to make an admission, I’ve never been to one of his sessions or read one of his books but I understand he does a lot around NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). Which is a way of “programming” your mind.In fact Wikipedia states “Neuro-linguistic programming is an approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in California, United States in the 1970s.”I went on a course many years ago which I guess had a NLP element to it. We were told to write down on a piece of paper, what we wanted and where we wanted to be in life. We refined these after discussion and then wrote them on a piece of paper. The idea is that, every day you take out that piece of paper and read those affirmations. And …. they come true! It’s worth mentioning that affirmations are more than just objectives. In a way they are hopes and dreams of where you want to be and what you want to achieve. This may sound like rubbish to some people but one of the famous people using affirmations is Jim Carrey, here is a link to him on the Oprah show explaining this.https://youtu.be/DXwVD2ncqfE
So What has this got to do with social selling and you?
6 years ago, I was in an OK job, I loved the people around me and was feeling the most fulfilled in my career, but some how I felt I needed something else. I had started playing with social media and somehow felt that that there was something in it and I wanted to be part of it.Related:

Strip out Cost from Your Organization with Social Media So I changed my Linkedin profile.
I used the affirmation technique on my Linkedin profile. Your Linkedin profile being your digital persona that everybody can see 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Of course I kept my affirmations to myself, but outwardly to the world I was who I wanted to be, not who I was.
Things then started happening …
Thomas Power (an influential social media person in the UK) invited me to spend two days away with 29 other social media influential people. Which is where I met my business partner and now friend,
Adam Gray.My boss suggested I went on a blogging course. I met a guy on social and we agreed to write a book together and things feel into place. I now do what I set out to do 5 years ago.But I’m not the only person doing this. A friend of mine, is looking for a new job in a different area. So he started blogging about it. Now this job that he is blogging about is not currently seen as a standard role. He is creating a job out of thin air. He’s had people come to him and say “that sounds like a really neat job, know anybody that can do that for us?”.
You can do this for yourself. Or you can use this as part of your sales and marketing strategy.
If people are searching for your product and service then they want to know yours is the best product and service, from the best people and the best company. And you can create this, on social. This will also have probably spin off but people will find you when they are looking for work, so you will also become the employer of choice for your industry. Simple steps that can transform you and your business.
