Seth Godin has been blogging daily for 15+ years.
He doesn’t miss a day. His consistency is aspirational and equally terrifying....Every day his thoughts arrive in my inbox and I love every one of them.A line from today’s missive felt particularly relevant and worth sharing:“If you can’t afford the time and effort to do it right, you probably can’t afford to do it over after you realize that the shortcut was merely a trap.”There are no shortcuts to scaling your business. There are no shortcuts to building trust with customers. There are no shortcuts to building a business where employees are clamoring to be hired. There are no shortcuts to achieving your vision.Just consistent, relevant, authentic work that matters to your ideal customer. The temptation will be to take a shortcut, to buy the thing that will frog-leap us ahead, to think for the short term instead of the long. So to keep the focus, the inspiration and the consistency, you’ll need a constant reminder. A reminder of where you’re going, why you’re going there, how, uniquely, you’ll get there and your immovable beliefs. You’ll need to get it out of your head and on to paper. So every one understands where you’re trying to go. It’s the only map you’ll need.
