Instagram is a great tool for brand awareness, influencer engagement and site traffic. Yes, I said site traffic. You can use Instagram as a tool in affiliate campaigns, brand promotion campaigns and so much more.
The first step to accessing the influencer lifestyle is to create an Instagram that has an engaged community and a clear aesthetic.
Update 1:
To start, update your bio. The best way to do this is to create a note in the notes app on your mobile device and add in whatever emojis or breaks in the paragraphs you want to in the note. You are limited to 150 characters for your bio, but you can do a lot in that space! Don’t bother putting other handles in if you’re short on space, they don’t hyperlink like Twitter so it’s not always the best idea.
Update 2:
Use a link tree for your posts to change the #linkinbio daily without all the leg work. I’m currently loving Instalink.Codes but there are tons of others out there. Click here to sign up for Instalink.Codes .
Update 3:
Use Instagram Stories! You don’t have to use Instagram Live if you’re not ready for that, but one Instagram Stories photo per day, to keep the feed fresh, will increase engagement. Make sure you’re asking users a question or to guess where you are to increase engagement on the stories themselves as well as keeping the feed updated with fresh, interesting content.
Update 4:
Use the RIGHT hashtags. Using hashtags (up to 11) is a great way to tag your photos and grow your community. Using the right hashtags for your brand increases the chances that this community will actually be interested in your content as well and follow or like more of your photos in their initial swipe.
Update 5:
Plan out your feed. If you look at our @CreatiVixMedia feed, you’ll see that we’ve clearly planned the type of messages that go out for a specific aesthetic. For my personal feed, @vixinthecity , I choose to share specific types of content with more of a style feel than specific photos. I do this because the CVM feed is the business feed and represents our team and my personal feed represents me, my personal experiences and observations. You need a healthy blend of both in order to have the perfect “ice cream sundae of social media” blend , but a clear aesthetic is also important to increase engagement and followers.
